A Roundabout Designed by Real Vermonters in Montpelier

Thanks to The Corridori for field trips to Montelier, interviews with Fire Chief, City Councilor, and pedestrians of all ages about the success (or failure) of a round like the ones proposed for North Avenue. 12 foot wide. Slow, steady stream of traffic, smooth fow even during peak times we were told. No problem for large vehicles like fire trucks and busses. Safe for pedestrians or all ages.

Since we have a growing number of bike commuters/shoppers/students, we have asked for safe separated bike lanes along the Avenue, connecting schools, parks, churches, senior centers, and residential areas. SEE PHOTOS HERE.

WHAT DO HOMEBUYERS WANT MOST?--A PLACE WITH SAFE BIKABLE ROUTES TO WORK AND SHOP

The National Association of Realtors surely would agree with the North Avenue draft vision and goals -- their Consumer Preference Survey on what current homeowners want released last month first ranked feature desired: "Safe routes for riding bikes to work and shopping.”
